A personal plea

I know by now that you all recognize the name Rogue Skies–the pretty purple cover above that I’ve been talking about for months. So you already know that it’s a science-fiction and fantasy boxset. And you know that it’s a set in which we’re all aiming to add the words “USA Today Bestselling Author” to our names.

What you might not know is that despite the hard work we’ve been doing for months, our sales numbers need to get much, MUCH higher.

What you might not know is my story.

I was always a reader. When my parents would punish me by sending me away from the tv or video games to my bedroom, I’d stamp my foot and shout “FINE! I’ll just READ!” At the age of seven or eight, I “tiled” my bedroom floor by laying out all of my books.

And then I came up with the idea of making my own stories. Things for OTHER people to read.

I started with fanfiction. Specifically, Sailor Moon fanfiction. To this day, I’ll tell you that was my first “serious” writing. It was the first time I worked with beta readers and incorporated their feedback into the writing.

In college, I majored in creative writing. After graduation, I worked a variety of office jobs–none of which left me feeling fulfilled the way writing did.

So I kept writing. And I published my first novel in May 2014. I’ve been at this for over five years

I can’t tell you what it would mean to me to be able to add USA Today Bestseller alongside my name on my books like some of the authors I idolize.

Why do it this way?

For starters, my books are in Kindle Unlimited, which is an Amazon exclusive program. As a general rule, I make more money that way. And this is a passion, but it’s also a business. To make the list, you have to have sales on retailers besides Amazon. Secondly, knowing how hard it’s been with the marketing power and efforts of 20-something of us–knowing we’re STILL not as close as we’d like to that goal–it’s something that I’m not confident I could do on my own. We all have different skill sets and it’s taken ALL of us to get to where we are now.

If you’ve already purchased Rogue Skies on a single platform, thank you. If you have ANOTHER dollar or two to spare to buy it on another, thank you again. If you have a significant other, friend, or co-worker that you think would be into a bargain of a collection of sci-fi and fantasy novels for $0.99, please do pass it on! The price goes up after Sunday.

You can find Rogue Skies on all platforms here.

And from all of us, thank you so so so much.
