Now and Again release day

Posted October 26, 2015 by Jennifer Ellision in blog, Books, new adult / 0 Comments

Now and Again paperbackIn 2010, I signed up for NaNoWriMo in an attempt to write my first novel, Now and Again.

It… went.

Basically, I was frustrated with my inability to do the story in my head justice. The plot was (at least, in my mind) sound, but my words were inadequate. Now and Again was trunked until I stumbled across it in the back of my closet around a year ago.

I’d thought often of that first attempt to write a book, usually cringing as I remembered feeling frustrated in front of a computer screen. Regretting that I couldn’t give Em and Cole the ending that they deserved or their introduction to the world.

Maybe it was the distance from the manuscript that I’d been able to gain with time, but I liked the book. Sure, it needed a complete rewrite, and several rounds of edits, but…

I began writing. Again.

…So here we are five years after the first draft. And I’m really, really happy that I took the time to make this into a book that I want to share. That I’m excited to be able to share.

Because not only was it was my first book, but Em, in particular, is special to me. Her fears may be the ones I’ve related to the most so far of any of my characters. (Love ya, Bree, but I have no evil kings to be afraid of.) Now and Again is unlike any of my other published works, but I hope that you enjoy it.

And I’m so glad that Em and Cole finally got their ending.

Now and Again is available now!

Now and Again – reveals galore!

Posted October 5, 2015 by Jennifer Ellision in blog, cover reveal / 4 Comments

Happy Monday, my friends!

I’ve been quiet on the blog– but I have a good excuse. I’ve been working my little butt off in order to get Now and Again ready for my readers by October and I’m pleased to say it’s nearly there! So, in this post, I’m not just revealing a release date. I’m also revealing the blurb. I’m revealing the trailer. And I’m revealing the cover!

Let’s get started.

First off, let’s have a blurb, shall we?

Unemployed. Broke. Maid of Honor.

All (unfortunately) words that describe Em Hayes.

Without any job leads in San Francisco, Em caves to her mother’s promise of free rent and returns home. Her best friend, Nikki, couldn’t be more thrilled. Em’s degree in Event Management is gathering dust, and what better way to put it to use than planning Nikki’s wedding?

There’s just one flaw in that plan: Cole Connors. The girls’ former roommate. And part of the reason Em hasn’t been back since college graduation.

Em’s never been able to forget Cole—or how close they were before she pushed him aside and ran for the hills. Cole’s never forgotten Em either— but in the past two years, she hasn’t given him much choice but to try.

And, according to Nikki, there’s no better pair to plan the wedding of her dreams.

Em’s usually good at squashing messy feelings, but being around Cole again brings them all rushing to the surface.

And this time, she’s not sure she wants to run.

You’ll be able to add Now and Again to your e-reader of choice on October 26, 2015. And you can add it on Goodreads now.

Paperbacks will also be available, but possibly at a later date– I will obviously keep you all apprised through this blog, my newsletter, and social media (linked in the blog’s sidebar).

And now, for the pretties! The trailer and the cover!

Happy book birthday to Elodie Nowodazkij’s ONE TWO THREE!

Posted June 26, 2014 by Jennifer Ellision in blog, Books / 0 Comments

Teaser 5I am so very, very excited that today is the book birthday for my friend, Elodie Nowodazkij’s ONE TWO THREE!

ONE TWO THREE is about a ballet dancer who’s lost both her father and her ability to dance, a romance, and how Nata (said dancer) learns to cope.

I first met Elodie in a YA writing class on LitReactor, where she was workshopping an earlier draft of ONE TWO THREE and I was workshopping an early draft of THREATS OF SKY AND SEA. We became Twitter buddies and then self-publishing buddies, exchanging e-mails swapping ideas about where we were in the process. It was something of a weight off of my shoulders, having someone else going through this process with me.

So from those e-mails, and from her blog, I know how seriously Elodie takes her craft and I am so, so pumped to start reading ONE TWO THREE!

You can find ONE TWO THREE on Amazon now.

Also available on: Barnes and Noble | Kobo | iTunes

Or add it on Goodreads

You can also enter to win a giveaway from Elodie via the Rafflecopter link below. Win an e-book of ONE TWO THREE!

Cover Reveal: One, Two, Three

I first met Elodie Nowodazkij through a Young Adult writing class on LitReactor. Since then, we’ve kept in touch via Twitter and let me tell you, she is such a sweetheart! It’s been such a privilege to have someone else going through the self-publishing process, and it’s been a further privilege to have that person be Elodie. Needless to say, I could not have been more thrilled when she made the decision to self-publish her debut novel One, Two, Three and I am so excited to be a part of her cover reveal today! When seventeen-year-old Natalya’s dreams of being a ballerina are killed in a car accident along with her father, she must choose: shut down—like her mother—or open up to love. Last year, Natalya was attending the School of Performing Arts in New York City. Last year, she was […]
