Brewing Books: Once Upon a Retellings Striking Midnight Cover Reveal

Posted December 2, 2018 by Jennifer Ellision in blog / 0 Comments

Hello, Rebels!

I’m excited to be a part of the Brewing Books Retellings Tour this year with nine other fabulous authors. If you’d like to participate, you can visit all ten blogs, collect the numbers, and then enter the final total on the Brewing Books Rules Post for your chance to win one of our amazing Brewing Books Prize Packs!

Keep reading to find my number and more.

Because boy oh boy… have I got a special treat for you.

As you may know, my Cinderella-assassin story, Striking Midnight, will release in the Kingdom of Glass and Ashes set on December 18th.

Kingdom of Glass and Ashes is a limited time collection of YA Cinderella retellings and you can preorder it from your favorite ebook retailer now.

Today, as part of the Brewing Books tour…

I’m proud to present the Striking Midnight cover reveal!

Dawn will break. And she will rise.

When the Noctisian King passed, the Daylight Accord crumbled. Now, the Kingdom of Noctis exists in darkness and unending night, while their neighbors slowly roast.

The sun never sets on Sol.

The former prince of Noctis refuses to honor the bargain his father made with the Solian rulers and both kingdoms suffer without the balance the other brings. But when the time comes for King Knox to choose a bride, Sol sends forth their best contender: Princess Cyndria.

Cyn is beautiful. Poised. Demure… and deadly. Trained by Solian assassins since she was old enough to grasp a knife, she knows exactly how she’ll enchant the King.

And, once she’s queen… How she’ll end him.

Honestly, Cyn would be perfectly happy to stay in her own kingdom if she could restore the Accord and peacefully rule over her people. But an archaic law declares that a ruler of Sol or their spouse must be eighteen in order for them to take the throne.

And Cyn is only seventeen.

Until she’s of age, Cyn’s stepmother rules in her stead.

But King Knox is n-i-n-e-t-e-e-n.

Marrying and killing King Knox would solve an awful lot of Cyn’s problems…

All authors in the Once Upon a Retelling tour are giving away a paperback of a fairy tale retelling and a cozy beverage!

For my beverage, I chose lavender hot chocolate. Hot chocolate because I’m not a coffee or tea drinker (I know… sacrilege. What kind of writer am I?). And lavender because, as we saw in the Striking Midnight cover reveal, the cover has some fun purple vibes. ^_~

Despite having the Striking Midnight cover reveal today, it will be a while until it’s out on its own. And since it will only be available as an ebook in Kingdom of Glass and Ashes for some time, I’m giving away a paperback by one of the other authors in Kingdom of Glass and Ashes:

Charm by J.A. Armitage!

Charm is the first in the Reverse Fairytale series by USA Today bestselling author J.A. Armitage.

The kingdom needs an heir and Princess Charmaine is quite aware that the job rests solely upon her shoulders. When her elder sister dies, Charmaine must take her place at the ball designed to find her a husband. With the wedding itself already planned, a hundred men stand ready to be chosen as her husband.

Now all she has to do is pick.

As a servant in the castle kitchens, Cynder knows his place beneath the royals.

With the impending war between the people of magic and those of his masters, there is little he can do to stop it. On one hand, he’s a staunch supporter of equal rights for his own kind, but on the other, he has already given enough of his life to these people. The only thing truly holding him to the castle is the attraction he feels for the daughter of his King and Queen.

When the two meet, sparks fly… and not just the magical kind.

You can read Striking MidnightCharm, and nine other YA Cinderella stories in Kingdom of Glass and Ashes on December 18th, 2018.

Pre-order now from your favorite e-book retailer.

Over Raging Tides cover reveal

Posted January 29, 2018 by Jennifer Ellision in Books, cover reveal / 0 Comments

It’s been a looooong time since I’ve shared a cover with you. It’s been even longer since I’ve had a new release. But both of those things are about to change! Last week, over on Young Adult Books Central, I had the Over Raging Tides cover reveal, designed by Jenny of Seedlings Design! I also revealed the novel synopsis and announced a giveaway.

Over Raging Tides is Book #1 in the Lady Pirates series. At present, Lady Pirates is a planned duology, but there may be more to come!

Over Raging Tides will release March 20, 2018,

but you can add it to your Goodreads shelves

and pre-order it for your Kindle now

The pirate crew of the Lady Luck lives by many rules, but chief among them is this: they do not allow men on board.

That’s a rule that quartermaster Grace Porter is willing to break when a shipwrecked young nobleman offers her information of an omniscient map, stolen from his warship by an enemy vessel. Until now, the map was only the stuff of legend… but with its help, Grace may finally be able to hunt down the Mordgris, the sea monsters who stole her mother away from her.

Unfortunately, some members of her crew have other plans…

To find the map and face the Mordgris, Grace will have to confront her past, put the Luck between warring nations, and uncover treachery aboard the ship. And ultimately, her revenge and the destruction of the Mordgris will come at a hefty price: the betrayal of her crew.

Grace promised them they wouldn’t regret this.

She just isn’t sure that she won’t.

What do you think of the Over Raging Tides cover reveal? Love it? Hate it? Either way, I’m dying to know your thoughts!

But wait! There’s more!

If you head over to Young Adult Books Central, you can enter to win a signed copy of Over Raging Tides, along with a bookmark and compass keychain. Also included in the giveaway are a signed copy of Air and Ash by Alex Lidell, a hardcover of Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller, and a signed Daughter of the Pirate King bookmark.

If you’re an international reader, don’t worry! You can still enter to win an e-book prize pack of Over Raging Tides, Air and Ash, Daughter of the Pirate King, and Threats of Sky and Sea.

It’s been almost a year since Riot of Storm and Smoke, book 2 in the Threats of Sky and Sea series, was released.

Since then, I’ve been working like crazy on Fall of Thrones and Thorns– the third and final novel in the series.

I’m so pleased to be able to say that it will be released September 27, 2016!

Are you ready for the Fall of Thrones and Thorns cover reveal?

Here is the Fall of Thrones and Thorns cover!

Fall of Thrones and Thorns cover Jennifer Ellision Threats of Sky and Sea

About Fall of Thrones and Thorns:

War hurtles in, a typhoon over the sea.

After Bree’s life was torn apart, Nereidium had represented a haven to her. A place that—if she could save it—was beyond the King’s reach.

And, at last, she’s arrived upon its shores. But things in Nereidium are not what they should be.

The land is plagued by a rash of mysterious earthquakes, the likes of which it’s never known. The governors are distracted by old traditions, while Bree and her friends grapple with changing identities and the sense that the longer they wait to take action… the greater the danger from Egria grows.

Bree is tired of living under the shadow of King Langdon’s power. And she’s tired of waiting for him to be the first to act.

In this final chapter of the Threats of Sky and Sea series, it all comes down to Nereidium or Egria. To Bree or the King. It’s kill… or be killed.

And not everyone will escape the battle unscathed.

Now and Again – reveals galore!

Happy Monday, my friends! I’ve been quiet on the blog– but I have a good excuse. I’ve been working my little butt off in order to get Now and Again ready for my readers by October and I’m pleased to say it’s nearly there! So, in this post, I’m not just revealing a release date. I’m also revealing the blurb. I’m revealing the trailer. And I’m revealing the cover! Let’s get started. First off, let’s have a blurb, shall we? Unemployed. Broke. Maid of Honor. All (unfortunately) words that describe Em Hayes. Without any job leads in San Francisco, Em caves to her mother’s promise of free rent and returns home. Her best friend, Nikki, couldn’t be more thrilled. Em’s degree in Event Management is gathering dust, and what better way to put it to use than planning Nikki’s wedding? […]

A Summer Like No Other Cover Reveal

You guys, I am so excited to be taking part in my friend Elodie’s cover reveal. Many of you might know that Elodie and I began our self-publishing journeys around the same time. Elodie writes sweet and sexy young adult lit and her current releases center around dancers. And I’m so proud to help her reveal the cover of her newest release: A Summer Like No Other, the companion novella to One, Two, Three, which she designed herself. About A Summer Like No Other: She’s his best friend’s little sister. He’s the biggest player of them all. They shouldn’t be together. But this summer’s just too tempting. Sixteen-year-old Emilia Moretti’s goal for the summer is simple: forget her brother’s best friend—Nick Grawsky—ever existed. It should be easy: He’s spending his summer in the Hamptons, adding girls in tiny bikinis to his list of broken […]

Cover reveal sign-ups and official release date for RIOT OF STORM AND SMOKE

GUYS. I am so very, very, very excited. Because finally, at long last, I’m at a point with Riot of Storm and Smoke that I feel comfortable setting a publication date. It has been far too long since I published Threats of Sky and Sea, and I’m sure you’re all wondering what in the hell happened to Bree and her friends, right? ^_~ Well, the wait isn’t too much longer, because… Riot of Storm and Smoke will be published August 18, 2015! (But you can add it on Goodreads now) Why did it take so long to announce an official release date? The truth is that I’m a slow writer… it takes me a loooong time to even find the story in all of my pantsing-style drafting. But we’re there now, and this is for real. I’ve reserved a slot with my […]
