The past three months wrapped up in a tidy post.

Because I post so sporadically, I rarely update you all on my life. And it usually seems to be in bullets when I do. Maybe that will change and maybe it won’t. But for now, updating this blog at all seems better than the alternative. So, let’s talk about my last few months, mmmk?

In February, I went to DISNEY to celebrate my friend Kelsey’s birthday! Kelsey used to intern at the parks and remained friends with people who worked there who agreed to use their employee passes to get us in fo free. I’m a pretty big Disney nerd and I had a great time. We went to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Magic Kingdom in one day and then returned again the next day solely for Magic Kingdom. It was unseasonably cold for Florida (in the forties and fifties, YIKES!), but Disney is awesome, so it was all good.

Yep, I talked to the princesses. And their princes. NBD (except really… HUGE BD)

The rest of that long weekend, I stayed with one of my best friends, Brooke, at her house in St. Pete, Florida, which was also great– it was nice to catch up! We also met up for a couple of meals with one of my favorite sorority sisters, Erin. Chatting with Erin is always fun because we enjoy nerdy talks and gif texting.

In March, I was offered the opportunity to transition from the full-time temporary job I was in to a different, full-time permanent position at the same company! HOORAY, employment!

I also visited Orlando to hang out with some college friends for St. Patrick’s Day. I had a great weekend (although I did feel a little old when we wound up at a college party and I realized I was the oldest person there).

Coincidentally, my wonderful CP Alex was in Orlando for a conference at the same time! We met up for dinner and had nerdy writing talk about our novels, dreams, and a few fun fandom things.

My wonderful CP, Alex! And me!

I also put Almost Grown-up, my YA book blog, on a hiatus to concentrate on my revisions for Apparent. I was just trying to do a few too many things at once, but I’m sure I’ll love getting back to book blogging when I’m trying not to think about querying. 😉

And a few friends were in from out of town randomly one week, so it was great to unexpectedly see them as well!

So far, in April, I visited my grandparents, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousins in North Carolina. I hadn’t seen them all in months and have always been pretty close with them, so it was wonderful to go, but hard to leave.

And I have 3 chapters left to revise(/redraft) of Apparent. It’s terrifying and thrilling at the same time to know that I am just so so close to query. Like a fist has clamped itself around my heart and is squeezing. In a kind of good way? I printed out the draft minus those three chapters because my grandma wanted to read it and that was another exciting thing– to hold it in my hands.

Guess what that big stack of papers is. GUESS.

Finally, just a note to let you all know that Lindsey and I have a revise-a-thon planned for this Saturday! As always, feel free to join in, and we’ll be live-blogging our progress!

Great catching up, lil blog o’ mine! See you Saturday! And who knows? Maybe sooner!
