Cover reveal and publication date: Sisters of Wind and Flame (A Threats of Sky and Sea prequel short)

Hello everyone! With BEA over (read my recaps over at The Bevy Bibliotheque: Part 1 | Part 2), I’m hard at work with Book 2 of the Threats of Sky and Sea series (Book 1 is available now).

And I’m also hard at work with editing something else…

Today, I also wanted to talk to you all about the e-short I’m releasing later this month– on June 30th, 2014 to be precise.

Those of you who have already read Threats of Sky and Sea have also met Lady Katerine. Kat got in my head in a way that I didn’t expect during Threats of Sky and Sea. I stepped back from the ToSaS manuscript and wrote what was supposed to be a short scene in Kat’s teenage years in an effort to understand what made the character tick.

It quickly became several scenes.

And I’m releasing that short story this month exclusively on Kindle for $0.99!

The beauty of self-publishing is that I can experiment with different sales methods like this. I’ve heard from other self-published authors that there are a great deal of benefits for making a book exclusive to Kindle for the first three months of its life, and I want to give it a shot myself! And I figure that most people who plan to read an e-book have some sort of access to a Kindle or Kindle app in order to read the book.

And one other thing I’m doing differently is that the cover for this short, Sisters of Wind and Flame, is a pre-made… but one that I’m extremely happy with.

Without further ado… here’s the cover for Sisters of Wind and Flame: A Threats of Sky and Sea prequel short!

Once, Lady Katerine was simply Ekaterina. Once, she was not a countess, but a girl who cleaned fireplaces.

And once, she had a sister…

And you can add it on Goodreads here

  1. Love the cover!
I’m still trying to finish up my first books to publish now but writing short stories for KDP is something that has caught my interest!
