Breathe In release day

Posted December 29, 2015 by Jennifer Ellision in blog, Books, Threats of Sky and Sea / 0 Comments

Untitled design (6)Hello all!

A blog! Two days in a row! This must be some sort of record for me.

This one will be brief. I’m thrilled to welcome Breathe In to the ranks of published Threats shorts.

Breathe In centers around Lady Corrine, a character you may not remember very much about, to be quite honest. She’s never appeared on page before and has been mentioned only briefly.

She was Bree’s Da’s–Duke Ardin’s– wife.

Breathe In is the closest to a love story that anything I’ve written in the Threats-verse has come and I just love Lady Corrine so much that I can’t believe I only “met” her a few months ago. She’s the sweetest character that I’ve written in ages and I am so glad that I was privileged enough to find her story, even if it hurt me (and my critique partners) to write it.

Breathe In is available for Kindle now.

About Breathe In:

Every winter, the snow glitters like a pretty lie. The winter palace swarms with visiting nobles. And Lady Corrine fights not to lose her breath.

Because whether he means to or not, Duke Ardin steals it away.

Lady Kat’s Story: Sisters of Wind and Flame Release Day

Lady Kat’s Story: Sisters of Wind and Flame Release Day

Happy Release Day, Lady Kat! While writing/revising Threats of Sky and Sea, I took a step back to try to get inside Lady Kat’s head. I imagined I’d sketch out a brief scene, but once I began writing it, it was clear that Lady Kat had more to say. (I should not have been surprised.) That quickly turned into a short story titled Sisters of Wind and Flame and I’m so excited that, as of today, you guys can see Kat develop into the antagonist we meet in TOSAS. I had so much fun writing Sisters of Wind and Flame and getting Kat, expanding on a couple of other characters that you’ve met before, adding a few others that you haven’t… and I’m very pleased to say that (for less that the price of… well, many things) Sisters of Wind and Flame can be yours […]

Cover reveal and publication date: Sisters of Wind and Flame (A Threats of Sky and Sea prequel short)

Hello everyone! With BEA over (read my recaps over at The Bevy Bibliotheque: Part 1 | Part 2), I’m hard at work with Book 2 of the Threats of Sky and Sea series (Book 1 is available now). And I’m also hard at work with editing something else… Today, I also wanted to talk to you all about the e-short I’m releasing later this month– on June 30th, 2014 to be precise. Those of you who have already read Threats of Sky and Sea have also met Lady Katerine. Kat got in my head in a way that I didn’t expect during Threats of Sky and Sea. I stepped back from the ToSaS manuscript and wrote what was supposed to be a short scene in Kat’s teenage years in an effort to understand what made the character tick. It quickly became several scenes. And […]

Threats of Sky and Sea book trailer reveal and bonus content!

Threats of Sky and Sea book trailer reveal and bonus content!

I’m so pleased to be able to share the book trailer for Threats of Sky and Sea with you all today! Threats of Sky and Sea trailer from Jennifer Ellision on Vimeo. Add Threats of Sky and Sea on Goodreads I created the trailer myself using stock video clips from free stock video websites and iMovie because I didn’t have a budget for a book trailer, to be honest! But I wanted one anyway, and I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. The passage in the trailer is one of my favorites too. I’ve also created a few Threats of Sky and Sea graphics. Use them as you see fit!   Other things! Inaccurate Realities, a YA literary magazine, announced that they’ll be publishing an exclusive Threats of Sky and Sea prequel in their “Magic” issue, out April 29th. […]
